Job summary

Advara HeartCare in Hervey Bay is seeking a Medical Receptionist to provide warm, professional administrative support across our clinics. You will be the first point of contact for patients, ensuring their experience is smooth, respectful and informed.

Experience in administration or customer service, preferably in healthcare, with strong time management and excellent communication skills. You will handle billing/receipting (Medicare and DVA awareness is a plus) and support the Health Track

Qualifications

• Experience in administration or customer service, ideally in healthcare or aged care
• Strong time management and prioritisation skills
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to support patients sensitively
• Confidence in billing/receipting medical accounts (Medicare and DVA experience preferred)
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment

Responsibilities

• Managing appointment bookings, rescheduling, and patient communications
• Liaising with hospital staff, doctors, and clinical teams
• Checking patient GP referrals and Medicare data for accuracy
• Answering incoming calls promptly and professionally
• Processing billing and receipting for patient accounts, including Medicare and DVA
• Supporting the team with efficient use of Health Track system
