Specialist Medical Services Group – Earlwood NSW is seeking friendly Patient Support Officers to welcome patients, manage bookings and front-desk duties across three Sydney centres. We offer casual shifts with a minimum of 3 hours, training and a welcoming team in a busy clinical environment.

Pay starts at $33.71 per hour on weekdays and $47.20 per hour on Saturdays, plus 12% super, with rosters posted two weeks ahead. Sundays are not worked.

Qualifications

• Customer service experience in retail, hospitality, call centres or healthcare.
• Clear, calm communication on the phone and at the desk.
• Accuracy when checking names, dates of birth and Medicare numbers.
• Ability to juggle a ringing phone, a patient at the desk and a queue without losing track.
• Discretion and confidentiality of patient information.

Responsabilités

• Greet patients, check them in and keep the waiting room moving.
• Answer the phones and book appointments in Best Practice, matching each patient to the right practitioner, appointment type and length.
• Process bulk-billed, Medicare and private payments, and issue receipts.
• Recognise emergencies and get at patient to a nurse straight away.
• Handle calls and correspondence from hospitals, pathology, pharmacies and referring doctors.
• Scan and file results and letters, keep patient records up to date.
• Open and close the centre, restock supplies, and keep reception areas clean and welcoming.
