Job summary

Myhealth is seeking a warm, professional Medical Receptionist to join our Cremorne general practice on a part-time basis (Mon–Wed). You will be the first point of contact for patients, managing registrations, scheduling, and inquiries while upholding patient confidentiality.

Experience with Best Practice is desirable, and familiarity with Medicare, DVA, Work Cover, HICAPS, and private health billings is preferred.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years reception experience (medical preferred).
• Best Practice experience desirable.
• Proficiency with Medicare, DVA, Work Cover, HICAPS and Private Health Insurance billings preferred.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and manage check-ins and registrations.
• Oversee diary scheduling with Clinical Team, including waitlists and bookings.
• Answer patient queries by phone and email.
• Organise and maintain patient records with confidentiality.
• Handle ad-hoc reception tasks to support daily operations.

About The Role

We’re seeking a warm, professional, and highly organised Medical Receptionist to join our Myhealth general practice in the heart of Cremorne on a Part-time basis, Monday to Wednesday.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone looking to advance their career in general practice while enjoying the dynamic atmosphere of a vibrant, busy area. As our Medical Receptionist, you’ll be the first point of contact for many of our patients, playing a key role in providing excellent patient care and support.

Day In The Life

• Greeting patients and efficiently managing patient check-ins and registration


• Overseeing and maintaining diary scheduling in collaboration with the Clinical Team (including waitlist management, booking in new clients and rescheduling appointments)


• Answering patient queries via phone and email


• Organising and maintaining patient records, ensuring confidentiality


• Handling various ad-hoc reception tasks to support the smooth running of the practice

What We're Looking For

• Minimum of 1-2 years of reception experience (medical preferred)


• Best Practice experience (desirable)


• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  
• Proficiency in Medicare, DVA, Work Cover, HICAPS, and Private Health Insurance billings preferred


• Strong multitasking abilities and effective prioritisation of workflow


• A positive, can-do attitude and a drive to make a meaningful impact on our patients and practice
