Myhealth Newtown in Sydney, NSW, is seeking a motivated Practice Manager to oversee day-to-day operations and lead a small team, delivering outstanding patient experiences in a busy GP clinic.

Join a supportive, values-led organisation with Monday–Friday hours and flexible shifts between 8am-4pm and 10am-6pm. This permanent, full-time role is ideal for an experienced practice manager ready to advance their career.

Qualifications

• Experience in GP medical reception or practice management.
• Proven leadership and senior administrative capabilities.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to manage nursing and admin staff is welcomed but not required.
• Familiarity with Medicare, DVA, Work Cover, HICAPS, and private health billings is a plus.
• Strong multitasking and prioritisation abilities.
• Positive attitude and focus on patient experiences and operations.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with lead doctors to ensure smooth operational workflows.
• Oversee day-to-day practice operations with a focus on quality patient care.
• Facilitate inductions and in-house training for new staff.
• Manage diary scheduling with the Clinical Team, including waitlists.
• Provide solution-focused management to clinic operations and doctor queries.
• Lead a hands-on team approach to problem solving and patient care.

About The Role

We're looking for a motivated Practice Manager to join our team at Myhealth Newtown in a permanent, full‑time position. This is a great opportunity for an experienced Practice Manager or a confident 2IC ready to take the next step in their career.

You’ll play a key role in overseeing day‑to‑day practice operations, working closely with doctors and your team to ensure everything runs smoothly while delivering a great patient experience. With a close‑knit team, Monday to Friday hours and flexibility across shifts between 8am-4pm and 10am-6pm, this role offers the opportunity to grow your career while enjoying a better work‑life balance.

A Day In The Life

• Collaborating with lead doctors to ensure smooth operational workflows
• Overseeing the day‑to‑day practice operations with a focus on quality care
• Facilitating inductions and in‑house training sessions for new staff
• Managing the diary scheduling system with the Clinical Team, including waitlist management and patient appointment coordination
• Providing solution‑focused management to clinic operations and doctor queries
• Leading a team with a hands‑on approach to problem‑solving and patient care

What we’re looking for

• Experience in GP medical reception or practice management
• Confident in taking on leadership and senior administrative roles
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
• Experience in managing nursing and administration staff is preferred but not essential
• Familiarity with Medicare, DVA, Work Cover, HICAPS, and Private Health Insurance billings preferred
• Strong multitasking and prioritisation skills
• A positive, can‑do attitude with a passion for enhancing patient experiences and practice operations
