Job summary

Myhealth is seeking a warm, professional Senior Medical Receptionist (2IC) to join our Rhodes practice on a full-time basis, Monday to Friday. You’ll support the Practice Manager, manage front-of-house operations, and be a key contact for patients and clinicians.

With 1–2 years of reception experience in healthcare, you’ll oversee diary scheduling, appointments, and waitlists while maintaining smooth daily operations and patient flow.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1–2 years of reception experience in general practice/healthcare settings.
• Best Practice experience preferred.
• Proficiency with Medicare, DVA, Work Cover, HICAPS and Private Health Insurance billings preferred.
• Strong multitasking abilities and prioritisation of workflow.
• Positive, can‑do attitude with a drive to help patients and the practice.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Practice Manager with day-to-day operations and service delivery.
• Handle day-to-day reception duties and patient enquiries.
• Oversee diary scheduling with the Clinical Team and manage waitlists.
• Coordinate appointments, bookings and rescheduling with the team.
• Support front-of-house operations and act as a contact for patients and doctors.

About The Role

We're on the lookout for a warm, professional and organised Senior Medical Receptionist (2IC) to join our Myhealth general practice in Rhodes on a full-time basis across Monday to Friday.

Working closely with the Practice Manager, you'll play an important role in the day-to-day running of the practice, helping keep the reception team and front-of-house operations running smoothly. You'll be a key point of contact for our patients, doctors and reception team, while also stepping up to support the Practice Manager when needed.

Day In The Life

• Assisting Practice Manager (or lead doctors) with operational excellence
• Day-to-day reception duties
• Overseeing and maintaining diary scheduling in collaboration with the Clinical Team (including waitlist management, booking in new clients and rescheduling appointments)
• Overseeing appointments and bookings
• Managing waitlist management, booking in new patients and rescheduling appointment
• Assisting with patient and doctor queries
• Utilising appropriate item numbers for appointments

What we're looking for:

• Minimum of 1-2 years of reception experience in general practice/healthcare settings.
• Best Practice experience preferred
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
• Proficiency in Medicare, DVA, Work Cover, HICAPS, and Private Health Insurance billings preferred
• Strong multitasking abilities and effective prioritisation of workflow
• A positive, can-do attitude and a drive to make a meaningful impact on our patients and practice
