Job summary

INTEC Energy Solutions in Australia is seeking an experienced Mechanical Superintendent for the Lower Wonga BESS & Solar PV project in the Gympie region, Queensland. Reporting to the Construction Manager, you will lead on-site mechanical works across mounting systems, trackers and fixed-tilt structures, ensuring safety, quality and alignment with programme.

Qualifications

• 5–10 years of experience in mechanical construction supervision.
• Proven experience on utility-scale solar or large infrastructure projects.
• Strong understanding of solar mounting systems, trackers or fixed-tilt structures.
• Experience with tracker commissioning and alignment.
• Experience supervising mechanical subcontractors and large site crews.
• Ability to interpret mechanical drawings, layouts and OEM installation manuals.
• Experience with ITPs, quality inspections and defect management.
• Current Driver's License & White Card.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise daily mechanical construction activities, ensuring works are carried out safely, efficiently and in line with approved installation methodologies.
• Plan, schedule and allocate labour, plant, tools and materials to meet construction programme milestones, monitoring productivity against planned outputs.
• Oversee the installation of module mounting systems, including driven piles, posts, fixed-tilt structures and trackers, in accordance with OEM specifications.
• Verify alignment, tolerances, torqueing and mechanical completeness prior to handover to electrical works, coordinating closely with Civil and Electrical teams to optimise sequencing and minimise rework.
• Supervise and coordinate mechanical subcontractors, monitoring performance and productivity to support cost control and ensure compliance with safety, quality and contractual requirements.
• Implement and manage Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), conduct inspections and audits, and ensure defects are promptly rectified.
• Act as the primary site-based mechanical interface with subcontractors, OEM representatives, engineers and the Independent Engineer.
• Maintain site diaries, progress reports, RFIs, non-conformances and installation records, and support mechanical completion dossiers and handover documentation.

As our Australian operations continue to grow, we're looking for an experienced Mechanical Superintendent to join our team at the Lower Wonga BESS & Solar PV project in the Gympie region of Queensland.

Reporting to the Construction Manager, this is a hands-on site leadership role where you will oversee and manage all on-site mechanical works. You will provide leadership across module mounting systems, trackers and fixed-tilt structures, including torqueing, alignment, tolerances and mechanical completion, ensuring works are delivered safely, to specification and in line with programme requirements.

This is a full-time position with an anticipated start in early 2027.
