Job summary

Morson Edge is seeking experienced Mechanical Fitters for FIFO/DIDO and local roles across Queensland’s mining and heavy industry sites. You will join teams dedicated to keeping fixed plant equipment safe, reliable and productive, with opportunities to work across crushers, screens, conveyors and processing plants.

The role requires a Mechanical Fitter qualification (Cert III or equivalent), strong troubleshooting skills, and the ability to read mechanical drawings.

Qualifications

• Strong mechanical aptitude and practical troubleshooting skills.
• Experience reading mechanical drawings and manuals.
• Fixed plant maintenance experience in mining, quarrying, mineral processing or heavy industry.
• Shutdown work experience is desirable.
• Current driver’s licence required.

Responsibilities

• Carry out preventative maintenance, servicing and shutdown work on fixed plant equipment.
• Fault-finding and diagnosing mechanical and hydraulic issues.
• Attend breakdowns and perform repairs promptly and safely.
• Remove, repair, replace and align pumps, gearboxes, motors and bearings.
• Maintain conveyors, crushers, screens, feeders and related plant.
• Work to isolation and lockout procedures and site safety systems.
• Complete job documentation and reporting accurately.
• Collaborate with operations, supervisors and other trades to minimise downtime.

We’re looking for experienced Mechanical Fitters to join our teams in fixed plant maintenance, keeping crushing, screening, conveying and processing plant safe, reliable and running at its best.

This is a great opportunity for a fitter from a Mining, Quarrying, Mineral Processing or Heavy Industry background who wants varied work and the chance to build their skills across different sites and equipment.

What You’ll Need
