Job summary

XR3 PTY LTD is seeking a hands-on Operator Maintainer with a Mechanical Fitter trade qualification to join our tailings reclamation and reprocessing team in a site-based mining environment in Brisbane. You will operate key equipment while providing day-to-day mechanical maintenance support to keep circuits running safely and efficiently.

Responsibilities

• Operate mobile and fixed plant equipment including skid steers and tailings delivery systems.
• Support operation of tailings cannons and associated pipeline infrastructure
• Carry out mechanical maintenance, fault finding, and basic repairs on pumps, pipelines, and ancillary equipment
• Assist with installation, relocation, and stripping of pipework and pumping systems
• Perform preventative maintenance tasks and contribute to shutdown activities
• Ensure safe work practices, compliance with site procedures, and high housekeeping standards
• Support barricading, set-up, and general site maintenance activities as required

Job description

We are seeking a hands-on Operator Maintainer with a Mechanical Fitter trade qualification to join our tailings reclamation and reprocessing team. This is a physically active, site-based role combining mobile plant operation with practical mechanical maintenance support in a fast-paced mining environment.

Role Overview

In this role, you will operate key equipment used in tailings reprocessing while also carrying out day-to-day mechanical maintenance and breakdown support across the circuit. You will be directly involved in keeping equipment running safely and efficiently, supporting production targets and recovery performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate mobile and fixed plant equipment including skid steers and tailings delivery systems
• Support operation of tailings cannons and associated pipeline infrastructure
• Carry out mechanical maintenance, fault finding, and basic repairs on pumps, pipelines, and ancillary equipment

About You

• Comfortable working in a physically demanding, outdoor environment
• Previous exposure to mining, processing plants, civil, agriculture, or heavy industry
• Strong mechanical aptitude with experience in maintenance or mobile plant environments
• Hands‑on, practical operator who enjoys varied work across both operations and maintenance
• Safety‑focused with a strong work ethic and willingness to learn
