Job summary

Crossmuller is seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineering Technician to join our Manufacturing team at the Somersby, NSW facility. Reporting to the Workshop Manager, you will work on state-of-the-art equipment and assist in the design, assembly and installation of mechanical plant.

Responsibilities include fault finding, pneumatic and hydraulic systems, reading drawings, and conducting preventative maintenance. Pre-employment medical may be required.

Qualifications

• Mechanical Engineering Diploma or equivalent experience.
• Experience with machine trouble shooting and fault finding.
• Experience with pneumatic and hydraulic equipment.

Responsibilities

• Assist design, assembly and installation of new or modified mechanical equipment and plant.
• Perform fault finding, field and laboratory tests and repairs on mechanical equipment including hydraulic/pneumatic systems.
• Carry out mechanical installation works per Site and Australian standards.
• Organise and oversee inspection and maintenance with cost reporting.
• Perform Preventative Maintenance Tasks as directed by Mechanical Coordinators.
• Participate in upgrades, installation of new machinery and decommissioning.

About the role

We are currently seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineering Technician to join our Crossmuller Manufacturing team based at our Somersby, NSW facility.

Reporting to the Workshop Manager, you will be working on state of the art equipment and will be responsible for:

• Assisting in the design, assembly and installation of new and modified mechanical equipment and plant such as machine tools, components, controls and hydraulic power systems
• Performing fault finding, field and laboratory tests and carry out complex computations and repairs on mechanical equipment including, hydraulic and pneumatic systems and mobile plant
• Performing mechanical installation works in accordance to Site and Australian standards where required
• Organising and overseeing inspection and maintenance of machine and plants to provide reports to management on estimated material costs associated with machine maintenance requirements
• Performing Preventative Maintenance Tasks as directed by Mechanical Coordinators

As we continue to grow our operations, this role is also involved with equipment upgrades, installation of new machinery and decommissioning of old machinery.

This is a full-time position. Salary for this position will be not less than $79,499 per annum.

About you

To be considered for this position you will have:

• Mechanical Engineering Diploma or equivalent experience
• Extensive experience in machine trouble shooting, problem solving and fault finding
• Experience in pneumatic and hydraulic equipment
