Job summary

Crossmuller is seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineering Technician to join the Somersby, NSW team. You will assist in design, assembly and installation of mechanical equipment, conduct fault finding and performance tests, and manage preventative maintenance under supervision.

The role reports to the Workshop Manager and involves working on state-of-the-art equipment, with a salary not less than $79,499 AUD per year. Australian manufacturing background is desirable.

Qualifications

• Mechanical Engineering Diploma or equivalent experience.
• Extensive experience in machine trouble shooting, problem solving and fault finding.
• Experience in pneumatic and hydraulic equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings/blueprints.
• Have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Condition monitoring techniques.
• Leadership & supervisory experience.
• Have worked in a continuous manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist in design, assembly and installation of new/modified mechanical equipment and plant (machine tools, components, controls, hydraulic power systems).
• Perform fault finding, field and lab tests and carry out repairs on mechanical equipment including hydraulic and pneumatic systems and mobile plant.
• Perform mechanical installation works in accordance with site and Australian standards where required.
• Organise and oversee inspection and maintenance of machines/plants and provide cost reports to management.
• Perform Preventative Maintenance Tasks as directed by Mechanical Coordinators.

About the role

We are currently seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineering Technician to join our Crossmuller Manufacturing team based at our Somersby, NSW facility.

Reporting to the Workshop Manager, you will be working on state of the art equipment and will be responsible for:

• Assisting in the design, assembly and installation of new and modified mechanical equipment and plant such as machine tools, components, controls and hydraulic power systems
• Performing fault finding, field and laboratory tests and carry out complex computations and repairs on mechanical equipment including, hydraulic and pneumatic systems and mobile plant
• Performing mechanical installation works in accordance to Site and Australian standards where required
• Organising and overseeing inspection and maintenance of machine and plants to provide reports to management on estimated material costs associated with machine maintenance requirements
• Performing Preventative Maintenance Tasks as directed by Mechanical Coordinators

As we continue to grow our operations, this role is also involved with equipment upgrades, installation of new machinery and decommissioning of old machinery.

This is a full-time position. Salary for this position will be not less than $79,499 per annum.
