Job summary

Crossmuller is seeking skilled Machine Operators to join our engineering workshop in Oberon, NSW. You will operate manual lathes and milling machines to produce components to specification.

Key responsibilities include setting up machines, reading job sheets, and ensuring quality with precise measurements. A forklift licence is highly regarded, and a pre-employment medical may be required. This is a full-time permanent role in a busy workshop environment.

Qualifications

• Proven experience operating manual lathes and/or milling machines in engineering or fabrication.
• Ability to work unsupervised and complete set tasks to a high standard.
• Strong attention to detail, quality, accuracy and safety.
• Basic numeracy and ability to interpret job sheets and simple drawings.
• Willingness to work in a busy, hands-on workshop environment.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate manual lathes and milling machines.
• Read job sheets and basic drawings; select appropriate tools, speeds and feeds.
• Machine components to required dimensions and tolerances.
• Check parts for quality and accuracy using measuring equipment.
• Perform routine machine maintenance and keep the work area clean and safe.

Our Engineering division designs and constructs manufacturing facilities, refurbishes existing facilities and designs and constructs automation plant for manufacturing plants and warehouses.

The Role

We’re seeking Machine Operators to join our engineering workshop in Oberon, NSW. You will operate manual lathes and milling machines to produce and finish components to specification.

Key Responsibilities:

• Set up and operate manual lathes and milling machines
• Read job sheets and basic drawings; select appropriate tools, speeds and feeds
• Machine components to required dimensions and tolerances
• Check parts for quality and accuracy using measuring equipment
• Perform routine machine maintenance and keep the work area clean and safe
• Meet production timeframes and record job details accurately
• Follow all safety, quality and workplace procedures

To be considered you will have:

• Proven experience operating manual lathes and/or milling machines in an engineering or fabrication environment

Current Forklift Licence (highly regarded; or willingness to obtain)
