Job summary

Oak Point Golf Club in Sydney’s southwest is seeking a skilled Golf Course Turf Mechanic to maintain and repair our expanding machinery fleet across the golf course and club facilities.

You will diagnose hydraulic, diesel and petrol systems, perform preventive maintenance, fabricate components where needed, and keep detailed service records while upholding WH&S standards at this brand‑new private club undergoing a $40 million transformation.

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Outdoor Power Equipment Technology or equivalent trade qualification.
• Current Australian Driver's Licence.
• Strong mechanical diagnostic skills.
• Experience maintaining hydraulic, diesel and petrol‑powered equipment.
• Ability to work independently and manage workloads effectively.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• High attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Service, maintain and repair all golf course maintenance equipment.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, electrical and diesel faults.
• Perform preventative maintenance programs across the machinery fleet.
• Maintain cutting units to the highest standard, including grinding, setting and adjustment.
• Weld and fabricate components when required.
• Maintain detailed service records and equipment history.
• Manage spare parts inventory and workshop consumables.
• Maintain a clean, organised and safe workshop environment.
• Liaise with equipment suppliers and service technicians where required.
• Assist with machinery setup for seasonal maintenance practices.
• Ensure all work complies with Workplace Health & Safety requirements.

About You

Essential Requirements

• Certificate III in Outdoor Power Equipment Technology, Agricultural Mechanical Technology, Heavy Vehicle Mechanical Technology or equivalent trade qualification.
• Current Australian Driver's Licence.
• Strong mechanical diagnostic skills.
• Experience maintaining hydraulic, diesel and petrol‑powered equipment.
• Ability to work independently and manage workloads effectively.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• High attention to detail.

Desirable

• Previous experience as a Golf Course Turf Mechanic.
• Experience with John Deere, Toro, Jacobsen or Kubota equipment.
• TIG/MIG welding and fabrication experience.
• Experience maintaining electric utility vehicles and lithium battery systems.
• Chemical accreditation (AQF3) or willingness to obtain.
• HR Licence.
