Job summary

Pelican Waters Golf Club, part of Palm Lake Group, seeks a skilled Golf Course Mechanic to service a fleet of turf equipment and maintain the 18-hole Greg Norman design course. The role is a fixed-term, full-time position across a shared Monday–Saturday roster.

You will diagnose, repair and maintain mowers, tractors and small engines, keeping records and ensuring safety standards are met.

Qualifications

• Trade qualification in mechanical repair is required.
• Experience diagnosing and troubleshooting small engines.
• Ability to plan maintenance and keep records.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair mowers, tractors, utility vehicles, sprayers and engines.
• Prioritise urgent repairs and perform diagnostics on systems.
• Keep service records and inventory up to date.
• Ensure safe operation and clean work environment.
• Collaborate with Superintendent to improve grounds and safety programs.

Position Details

We are seeking a skilled and qualified Golf Course Mechanic to join our maintenance team at Pelican Waters Golf Club where you will be maintaining a diverse fleet of high-quality turf equipment (Toro and John Deere) that ensures that our 18-hole Greg Norman designed golf course is one of the best courses in Australia.

This is a Fixed Term - Full time position working 38 hours a week across a shared roster between Monday to Saturdays.

Responsibilities

• Ensure all vehicles and equipment are maintained and repaired on a timely basis, including mowers, tractors, utility vehicles, sprayers, and small engines (2-stroke and 4-stroke).
• Prioritise and attend to urgent repairs of any description.
• Perform diagnostics and repairs on mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
• Maintain accurate service records and inventory.
• Maintain a clean work environment at all times.
• Ensure safe operation of equipment is maintained at all times.
• Work with the Superintendent and team members to consistently improve the golf course, club grounds, maintenance facility and safety programs.
• Follow all safety procedures and environmental regulations.
• Adhere to Palm Lake Group Workplace Health & Safety guidelines and all company policies.

• A Trade Qualification in Mechanical Repair.
• Demonstrated experience in small engine repair, including diagnosis & troubleshooting.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify and address minor issues proactively.
• Physical capability to undertake demanding outdoor tasks in varying weather conditions.
• Problem solving skills and the ability to implement effective solutions quickly.
• Strong time management skills to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
• A collaborative approach and willingness to support the wider Pelican Waters Golf Resort team.
• Initiative to identify improvements to maintenance processes and equipment.
• A demonstrated commitment to, and understanding of, safety in all work undertaken
• An organised and methodical approach to work scheduling & record keeping
