Job summary

Tea Tree Gully Golf Club seeks a qualified Mechanic / Turf Equipment Technician to join our Golf Course Management team. You will be responsible for servicing and maintaining our extensive range of plant and turf machinery, ensuring safe operation and availability when required.

Working with the Course Superintendent and team, you will diagnose faults, perform repairs, maintain maintenance records, and help plan equipment replacement.

Qualifications

• Qualified diesel or automotive mechanic or equivalent trade.
• Strong fault-finding, servicing and repair skills.
• Experience with plant, machinery or mobile equipment.
• Understanding of hydraulic and electrical systems.
• Experience with small plant such as chainsaws and line trimmers.
• Good organisational skills and ability to manage preventive maintenance.
• Strong commitment to workplace safety.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Carry out routine servicing and repairs across the Club’s plant and equipment.
• Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic and electrical faults and complete repairs.
• Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns to minimise downtime.
• Ensure machinery and equipment are safe, reliable and ready for daily use.
• Develop and maintain preventative maintenance schedules and service records.
• Assist with equipment replacement planning.
• Identify and report faults or issues affecting reliability or useful life.
• Maintain a clean, organised and safe workshop and maintenance facility.
• Ensure compliance with WHS requirements and Club procedures.
• Collaborate professionally with staff, management, suppliers, members and guests.

Job description

Tea Tree Gully Golf Club, one of Adelaide’s premier golf clubs, is seeking a qualified and motivated Mechanic / Turf Equipment Technician to join our Golf Course Management team.

We are flexible and welcome applications from candidates seeking either full-time or part-time employment.

The Role

This is an important position within our Golf Course Management team, responsible for ensuring the Club’s extensive range of plant, machinery and turf maintenance equipment is maintained to a high standard, safe to operate and available when required.

Working closely with the Course Superintendent and the wider course team, you will take ownership of the servicing, preventative maintenance and repair of our equipment and help us maintain an efficient, organised and safe workshop.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Carrying out routine servicing, preventative maintenance and repairs across the Club’s plant and equipment.
• Diagnosing mechanical, hydraulic and electrical faults and completing repairs in a timely manner.
• Responding promptly to equipment breakdowns to minimise downtime.
• Ensuring machinery and equipment are safe, reliable and ready for daily use.
• Developing and maintaining preventative maintenance schedules and service records.
• Assisting the Course Superintendent with plant and equipment replacement planning.
• Identifying and reporting faults or emerging issues that may affect the reliability or useful life of equipment.
• Maintaining a clean, organised and safe workshop and maintenance facility.
• Ensuring plant and equipment comply with relevant WHS requirements and Club procedures.
• Working collaboratively and communicating professionally with staff, management, suppliers, members and guests.

About You

We are looking for someone who takes pride in their work, enjoys solving mechanical problems and understands the importance of keeping equipment operating reliably.

Ideally, you will have:

• A relevant qualification as a diesel or automotive mechanic, or similar mechanical trade qualification.
• Strong mechanical fault-finding, servicing and repair skills.
• Experience working with plant, machinery or mobile equipment.
• An understanding of hydraulic and electrical systems.
• Experience with small plant and equipment such as chainsaws, line trimmers and similar machinery.
• Good organisational skills and the ability to manage preventative maintenance alongside day-to-day repairs.
• A strong commitment to workplace safety.
• The ability to work independently while also being an effective member of our course team.

Previous experience with golf course or turf maintenance equipment would be highly regarded but is not essential. We encourage suitably experienced mechanics from the automotive, diesel, agricultural, earthmoving, small-engine, or similar industry to apply.
