Job summary

Viewbank College in Victoria seeks a classroom teacher to plan, prepare and teach programs that meet diverse student needs and achieve targeted learning outcomes across key curriculum areas.

You will be expected to use data to inform teaching, respond to student learning needs, monitor progress and provide feedback to students and parents, while building collaborative relationships with staff and the wider school community.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated knowledge of the relevant curriculum with literacy and numeracy teaching integration.
• Experience planning for and implementing high impact teaching strategies, guided by how students learn.
• Experience monitoring and assessing student learning and using data to inform teaching.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with students, parents, colleagues and the wider school community.
• Commitment to reflective practice and ongoing professional learning per Department values.

Responsibilities

• Direct teaching of groups and individuals; plan, prepare and deliver programs.
• Contribute to development, implementation and evaluation of curriculum programs.
• Undertake duties including parent/teacher meetings, staff meetings, camps and excursions.
• Provide expert advice to shape staff professional learning and school policies.
• Supervise and mentor student teachers and use data to inform instruction.
