Job summary

Transdev Sydney Ferries is offering a 12-month Maritime Traineeship in Sydney. You will train toward Certificate I–III Maritime Operations and contribute to ferry operations, navigation, and maintenance.

You will attend TAFE or equivalent while gaining hands-on experience on ferries and facilities, with a rotating roster that may include overnights. Start date is late January 2027, with weekly pay of AU$973 plus super and penalties.

Qualifications

• Completed Year 10 or above and be 18 yrs of age.
• Ability to swim 50 metres and provide evidence via letterhead from your local pool.
• Be an Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident.
• Be enthusiastic and eager to learn on the job.
• Work well within a team environment and be prepared to work shifts including weekends.

Responsibilities

• Participate in on- and off-the-job training for maritime qualifications.
• Engage in daily operation, navigation, cleaning, security and maintenance of ferries, wharves and facilities.
• Work in a rotating roster, including overnight shifts where required.
