Job summary

Mackay Regional Council is seeking a skilled Maintenance Planning Officer to join our Facilities & Open Spaces Program. This is a permanent full-time opportunity with an on-call roster.

You will plan, schedule and coordinate reactive and preventative maintenance across council assets, working with internal teams and contractors to ensure safe, efficient and high-quality results. The role is approximately 50% office-based and involves coordination with stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Experience planning and coordinating maintenance works and projects.
• White Card and manual Queensland C class driver licence or interstate equivalent.
• Relevant trade qualification or demonstrated trade background.
• Practical knowledge of building maintenance and construction-related activities.
• Ability to interpret plans, specifications, and technical documentation.
• Sound computer skills and experience using systems for work management and reporting.
• Ability to participate in an on-call roster.

Responsibilities

• Plan, schedule and coordinate reactive maintenance across council assets.
• Plan, schedule and coordinate preventative maintenance.
• Coordinate with internal stakeholders, contractors and operational teams.
• Ensure maintenance works are delivered safely, efficiently and to a high standard.
