This is a hands‑on role suited to someone who takes pride in their workmanship, enjoys variety in their day, and values building positive relationships with homeowners.

About Us

GemLife is one of Australia's fastest‑growing developers of luxury over‑50s residential resorts. Known for architecturally designed communities, premium facilities, and exceptional lifestyle experiences, we are proud to be a newly ASX‑listed business built on passion, integrity, and respect.

Joining GemLife means becoming part of a growing organisation where quality, customer experience and continuous improvement are at the centre of everything we do.

The Opportunity

As the face of GemLife for many homeowners, your ability to communicate effectively, provide practical solutions and deliver outstanding customer service is just as important as your technical skills.

If you enjoy being on the tools, take pride in finding solutions and value quality workmanship, we'd love to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out general maintenance and handyperson works across GemLife resorts within the Toowoomba region.
  • Complete minor repairs including painting, plaster patching, door adjustments, lock repairs, hardware replacement and general upkeep.
  • Conduct 12‑month maintenance inspections on newly completed homes.
  • Travel between resort communities as required to attend maintenance and warranty‑related items.
  • Identify maintenance issues and provide practical, cost‑effective solutions.
  • Liaise with homeowners to ensure maintenance requests are resolved professionally and efficiently.
  • Coordinate and communicate with trade contractors where required.
  • Ensure all works are completed in accordance with company standards, QBCC requirements and relevant building tolerances.
  • Maintain accurate records of completed works and outstanding maintenance items.
  • Operate hand‑held and battery‑powered tools safely and effectively.
  • Support a culture of safety by promoting awareness and compliance with GemLife's Work Health and Safety Management System.
The Successful Applicant Will Bring
  • Previous experience in a maintenance, handyperson, carpentry, painting or similar hands‑on role.
  • Strong practical skills across general building maintenance and repairs.
  • Experience completing minor painting, plaster repairs, door adjustments and general finishing works.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage your own workload.
  • A solutions‑focused approach with strong attention to detail.
  • Trade qualifications in Carpentry, Painting or a related trade will be highly regarded but are not essential.
  • Flexibility to travel between GemLife resort communities throughout the Toowoomba region.
  • Current Driver Licence and a clean driving record.
  • Construction White Card.
Why Join GemLife?
