Job summary

GemLife seeks an experienced Maintenance Officer to support homeowners across our luxury over-50s resort communities in the Toowoomba region. This hands-on role involves attending maintenance requests, completing repairs and conducting inspections, with travel between resorts and a focus on practical, high-quality workmanship.

Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, you will provide exceptional customer service, communicate effectively with homeowners and coordinate with trade contractors.

Qualifications

• Experience in maintenance/handyperson roles.
• Strong building maintenance and repair skills.
• Experience with painting and plaster repairs.
• Excellent customer service and communication.
• Ability to work independently and manage workload.
• Willingness to travel between GemLife resort communities.

Responsibilities

• Carry out general maintenance and handyman works across GemLife resorts in Toowoomba region.
• Complete minor repairs including painting, plaster patching, door adjustments, hardware replacement.
• Conduct 12-month maintenance inspections on newly completed homes.
• Travel between resort communities as required to attend maintenance and warranty items.
• Identify maintenance issues and provide practical, cost-effective solutions.
• Liaise with homeowners to ensure maintenance requests are resolved professionally and efficiently.
• Coordinate and communicate with trade contractors where required.
• Ensure all works meet company standards, QBCC requirements and building tolerances.
• Maintain accurate records of completed works and outstanding maintenance items.
• Operate hand-held and battery-powered tools safely and effectively.
• Promote safety and compliance with GemLife WHS system.
