Aveo Newstead Residences in the inner-city suburb of Newstead is seeking a Maintenance Officer to keep homes and shared spaces safe, functional and well presented for residents.

You will manage a range of reactive and preventative maintenance tasks, including painting, small plumbing, lighting and equipment upkeep, while engaging positively with residents and the team.

This is a full-time role, Monday to Friday, with a supportive team and opportunities to learn and grow.

Qualificações

• Experience in a general maintenance or trade-based role with hands-on tasks.
• Proactive, solutions-focused approach with troubleshooting ability.
• Clear communication with residents and team.

Responsabilidades

• Completing general repairs and handyperson tasks such as painting, picture hanging and light replacements.
• Performing small plumbing maintenance, including replacing taps and washers.
• Supporting upkeep of external assets such as lighting and sprinkler systems.
• Carrying out scheduled preventative maintenance across the community.
• Recording maintenance activities, notes and job updates.
• Being a friendly and approachable presence for residents while working with a supportive team.

The Opportunity

The Newstead Residences creates a luxury and vibrant retirement lifestyle in the inner-city suburb of Newstead. The Newstead offers extensive luxury facilities and outdoor areas for residents to enjoy including cinema rooms, day spas and virtual golf rooms. As a Maintenance Officer, you will play an important role within the community ensuring homes and shared spaces are safe, functional and well presented. You’ll manage a range of reactive and preventative maintenance tasks, from repairs to general handyperson work, while engaging positively with residents. This is an ideal opportunity for someone with a trade background or strong domestic maintenance experience, who is friendly, proactive, and passionate about helping others.

This is a Permanent Full-Time position working Monday to Friday (8:30am-4:30pm)

Your Impact

• Completing general repairs and handyperson tasks such as painting, picture hanging and light replacements
• Performing small plumbing maintenance, including replacing taps and washers
• Supporting the upkeep of external assets such as lighting and sprinkler systems
• Carrying out scheduled preventative maintenance across the community
• Managing community tools and equipment to ensure they are safe, organised and fit for purpose
• Recording maintenance activities, notes and job updates
• Being a friendly and approachable presence for residents while working closely with a supportive team
• Please note - this is not a gardening role (we have that covered!)

What You'll Bring

• Experience in a general maintenance or trade‑based role, including hands‑on handyperson tasks
• A proactive, solutions‑focused approach, with the ability to assess issues, troubleshoot and take action
• An understanding of maintenance cycles and the expected lifespan of equipment and village assets
• Clear and confident communication skills, with the ability to explain maintenance works in a resident‑friendly way
• A positive, approachable attitude and a strong sense of pride in your work
• A valid driver’s licence (essential)
• Minimum of two (2) COVID-19 vaccinations (required)
