Aveo is seeking a Maintenance Officer for Bella Vista Haven, a vibrant retirement community in Sydney’s Hills District. You’ll handle day-to-day maintenance, coordinate with contractors, and help maintain grounds and facilities.

This permanent full-time role runs Monday to Friday, 8:00am–4:00pm, with a focus on safe, resident-friendly service. You’ll join a supportive Aveo Facilities team, perform preventative maintenance, and build positive relationships with residents.

Qualifications

• Experience in a general maintenance or trade-based role.
• Proactive, solutions-focused approach.
• Understanding maintenance cycles and asset lifespans.
• Clear, resident-friendly communication.
• Valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate external works with Aveo Facilities team and contractors.
• Conduct regular inspections to rectify defects and issues.
• Perform small plumbing maintenance, including replacing taps and washers.
• Support upkeep of external assets such as lighting and sprinkler systems.
• Carry out scheduled preventative maintenance across the village.
• Manage community tools and equipment to ensure safety and organization.
• Prepare and program access swipes for residents or family members.
• Record maintenance activities, notes and job updates.
• Be a friendly and approachable presence for residents while collaborating with the team.

The Opportunity

As Maintenance Officer, you will be working closely alongside the residents and fellow staff, you will be responsible for the day-to-day maintenance and repair tasks around our retirement village. No two days are the same. From completing repairs and maintenance tasks to coordinating contractors and helping maintain our beautiful grounds and facilities, you'll be at the heart of creating an environment that residents are proud to call home. Your Impact

Whatyou'llbring

• Experience in a general maintenance or trade‑based role, including hands‑on handyperson tasks
• A proactive, solutions‑focused approach, with the ability to assess issues, troubleshoot andtake action
• An understanding of maintenance cycles and the expected lifespan of equipment and village assets
• Clear and confident communication skills, with the ability to explain maintenance works in a resident‑friendly way
• Great attention to detail
• A positive, approachable attitude anda strong senseof pride in your work
• A valid driver’s licence (essential)
