Job summary

Whitehaven Coal, a leading Australian coal producer, is seeking an experienced Mechanical Maintainer to join the Narrabri CHPP maintenance team.

You will perform shift-based mechanical maintenance, support safety procedures, inspect for hazards, and contribute to improvement projects. The role offers relocation options and a path for career development within a high-performance operation.

Qualifications

• Mechanical trade qualification required; boilermaker beneficial.
• Experience with process plant equipment and safe work procedures.

About The Role

An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced Mechanical Maintainer to join the Narrabri CHPP maintenance team.

What You’ll Do

• Undertake mechanical maintenance activities on shift as needed
• Work collaboratively with your crew members, assisting where required and be a positive influence in high performance behaviour in the workplace
• Support site HSEC policy and procedures, following safe work procedures as set out for the work process
• Inspection of the work area and plant for hazards, damage and defects
• Contribute to improvement projects around the CHPP

What You’ll Bring

The successful applicant will possess the following qualifications, experience and qualities:

• Mechanical trade certification, boilermaker also advantageous
• Working at heights / Confined Space / Gas Testing
• Experience of process plant and equipment, including
  - Conveyors & Crushers
  - Pumps
  - Reclaim Tunnels and Valves
  - Vibrating Screens and Feeders
  - Bulldozers, Loader and Bobcat
