Job summary

Whitehaven Coal is seeking a skilled Plant fitter to join our Vickery operation, contributing to reliable maintenance of mobile equipment on site. You will be part of a disciplined crew focused on safety, quality, and efficiency.

This permanent role offers the opportunity to work with CAT/Hitachi machinery, gain heavy industry experience, and participate in a comprehensive career development program within a growing mining site.

Qualifications

• Solid trade skills and a strong safety mindset.
• Background in mining or heavy industry.
• Trade qualified (Plant or Diesel Fitter) – NSW Cert of Proficiency required.
• Sound knowledge of CAT/Hitachi machinery.
• High-risk tickets like EWP, Forklift or Crane (nice to have).

Responsibilities

• Carry out scheduled maintenance and repairs on mobile plant.
• Jump on breakdowns and keep machines turning.
• Work safe, think ahead, and report anything that doesn’t look right.
• Get through your work orders without needing to be chased.
• Pitch in and back your crew when it counts.
