Job summary

Salter Brothers Hospitality, Kingsford SA, invites applications for a Junior Sous Chef to join our luxury culinary team at Kingsford the Barossa. You will support kitchen leadership, drive high food standards and help deliver memorable guest experiences across outlets and events.

Reporting to the Head Chef, you will contribute to menu development, staff mentoring, and keeping operations smooth, safe and financially sound in a high-end resort environment.

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of back-of-house operations.
• Mentoring and developing culinary team members.
• Excellent organisational and communication skills.
• Flexibility to work a rotating roster, including weekends, evenings and public holidays.

Responsibilities

• Assisting in the leadership of the kitchen team to deliver exceptional, memorable and profitable dining experiences.
• Delivering outstanding food experiences across all outlets including restaurant dining, weddings, functions and events.
• Collaborating with the Head Chef on menu development and execution.
• Training and mentoring kitchen staff to foster a high-performing culture.
• Overseeing kitchen operations in the absence of senior chefs and maintaining quality standards.
• Working with Front of House to ensure seamless service and guest satisfaction.
• Ensuring compliance with food safety, hygiene and WHS standards.
• Supporting senior leaders in achieving operational and guest satisfaction objectives.
