Job summary

Capella Sydney is seeking a Shift Engineer to ensure the seamless operation of the hotel’s infrastructure, including MEP, kitchen, and ancillary systems. You will maintain equipment, troubleshoot issues, and implement energy-efficient solutions to support a high‑quality guest experience.

The role requires prior experience in similar settings, basic computer skills, and the ability to work a rotational roster including weekends and public holidays.

Qualifications

• Experience in similar roles.
• Basic computer skills with hands-on experience in room maintenance.
• Ability to work shift work on a rotational roster including weekends and public holidays.
• Good command of written and spoken English.
• Valid working rights in Australia.

Responsibilities

• Repairs and maintains all mechanical, electrical and hydraulic equipment in good working order throughout the hotel.
• Repairs and maintains pool system, supply lines and ancillary fittings in good working order.
• Ensures the kitchen and associated equipment are working properly and efficiently during the course of duties.
• Checks and records in a log book, including the quality of the machine.
• Carries out all work orders and repairs assigned. Communicate status to ensure quality guest experience.
