Job summary

Aurizon is seeking a Locomotive Driver based at the Cloncurry depot in Queensland. The role involves operating locomotives across mainline, shunting and yard operations, certifying trains for departure and applying best-practice train management to ensure safe, efficient operations.

You will work in line with Aurizon's safety standards, participate in continuous performance improvements, and adhere to applicable industrial agreements.

Qualifications

• Certificate IV in Rail Operations is mandatory.
• Experience with Qld Safeworking Systems is required.
• Current unrestricted driving licence.
• Strong commitment to safety.

Responsibilities

Job description

The Aurizon Bulk Operations are currently seeking qualified Locomotive Driver to be based at our Cloncurry depot. This role will be suited to an individual who is able to display superior teamwork skills, flexibility, a high level of safety awareness and customer service.

About the role:

• Operation of locomotives including mainline, shunting and yard operations.
• Examine and certify trains as ready for departure.
• Apply 'best practice' train management techniques to ensure efficient and safe train operations.
• Work in accordance with Aurizon's safety and operational standards and procedures.
• Contribute to continuous performance improvement.
• Work in accordance with Aurizon's award and other industrial agreements relevant to the position of Locomotive Driver.

About you:

• Certificate IV in Rail Operations (Mandatory)
• Experience in Qld Safeworking Systems
• Current unrestricted driving licence
• A strong commitment to safety
• Ability to work a 24/7 shift work roster including availability to work weekends
• Willingness to work book off’s as rostered
