Job summary

Aurizon in Australia is seeking a locomotive operator responsible for examining and certifying trains for departure, and for operating mainline, shunting, marshalling, and on customer sites. You will follow Aurizon safety and operational standards, maintain high on‑time performance, and prepare brake testing on locomotives while delivering high quality customer service.

Candidates must hold a Certificate IV in Rail Operations, a current unrestricted Class C licence, and be available to work a

• Certificate IV in Rail Operations is mandatory.
• Current unrestricted Class C licence is mandatory.
• Extensive freight and/or heavy haulage locomotive driving experience.
• Must be available to work 24/7 shift roster.
• Live and breathe safety and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Examine and certify trains as ready for departure.
• Operate locomotives on mainline, shunting, marshalling and on customer sites.
• Follow Aurizon safety and operational standards and procedures.
• Maintain a high level of on-time running.
• Prepare and conduct brake testing on locomotives.
