Job summary

Aurizon Bulk is offering an entry level Trainee Freight Operator role at our Cloncurry depot. The program covers both theoretical and practical training to prepare you for loading/unloading operations, safety procedures, and railway tasks.

The role involves operating heavy lift machinery, inspecting rollingstock, and performing brake tests. Successful candidates will join a dynamic team and participate in day and night shifts, including weekends, as part of our apprenticeship-style program.

Qualifications

• C Class Drivers Licence is mandatory.
• High Risk Forklift Licence is desirable.
• Strong commitment to safety is essential.
• Mechanical aptitude and problem solving skills are required.
• Willingness to work day and night shifts, including weekends.

Responsibilities

• Undertake the theoretical and practical components of the training program.
• Ensure loading and unloading of customers' products is efficient and safe.
• Operate heavy lift machinery.
• Inspect rollingstock for faults and rectify minor faults.
• Conduct brake testing of trains.
• Communicate with depot personnel face to face and via two-way radio.

About the role

Work Environment
