Job summary

Aurizon is seeking a Locomotive Driver based at the Cloncurry depot in Queensland. The role involves operating locomotives across mainline, shunting and yard operations, certifying trains for departure and applying best-practice train management to ensure safe, efficient operations.

You will work in line with Aurizon's safety standards, participate in continuous performance improvements, and adhere to applicable industrial agreements.

Qualifications

• Certificate IV in Rail Operations is mandatory.
• Experience with Qld Safeworking Systems is required.
• Current unrestricted driving licence.
• Strong commitment to safety.

Responsibilities

• Operate locomotives including mainline, shunting and yard operations.
• Examine and certify trains as ready for departure.
• Apply best practice train management techniques for safe operations.
• Work in accordance with Aurizon's safety and operational standards.
• Contribute to continuous performance improvement.
• Work in accordance with Aurizon's award and industrial agreements.
