Qualifications

• Demonstrated expert knowledge of the relevant curriculum and ability to lead the implementation of school priorities, including literacy and numeracy across the curriculum.
• Ability to plan and implement high-impact teaching strategies and evaluate their impact on student learning growth.
• Ability to monitor and assess student learning at class, cohort or whole-school level using data to drive improvement and provide feedback to students and parents.
• Exemplary interpersonal and leadership skills with capacity to lead collaborative relationships with students, colleagues, parents and the broader school community.
• Ability to model departmental values and contribute to whole-school professional learning and practice.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage whole-school improvement initiatives aligned with the school strategic plan and priorities.
• Lead curriculum planning and delivery improvements across learning areas.
• Coordinate professional development and develop individual and team development plans for teaching staff.
• Oversee staff performance development and reviews.
• Develop and implement school assessment and reporting policies and practices.
• Lead school operations and policies related to student welfare and discipline.
• Develop curriculum in a major learning area and participate in cross-area curriculum development.
• Contribute to policy development and school council considerations.
• Develop and manage the school code of conduct.
