Job summary

Equity Works Assoc. Inc. on the Sunshine Coast is seeking compassionate Lifestyle Facilitators to support people with disability in home settings, including short-term accommodation and SIL roles.

You will deliver person-centred active support, assist with daily routines and promote independence, while following care plans and maintaining clear documentation. Onboarding, supervision and a strong community focus are provided.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting people with disability (or willingness to learn).
• Values-driven approach grounded in respect, inclusion and human rights.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Flexibility to work a range of shifts, including sleepovers.
• Current driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle.

We’re currently seeking compassionate, capable Lifestyle Facilitators to join our teams across:

• Short‑term accommodation and respite
• Supported Independent Living (SIL)

Because consistency matters to the people we support, we’re seeking team members who can offer availability across a range of shifts,including overnight sleepovers and weekday work.

We provide 24/7 support to people with disability living in their own homes on the Sunshine Coast. They need support staff for a minimum of 15-20 hours a week. Sleepover availability is a must for these roles.

About the role

As a Lifestyle Facilitator, you play a vital role in walking alongside people with disability to support a quality life, one shaped by choice, dignity and belonging.

Your work will focus on doing with, not for and supporting people to build confidence, skills and independence at their own pace. You’ll be part of a team that places strong value on relationships, continuity and thoughtful staff–client matching, because we know consistency matters.

You won’t be expected to “figure things out alone”. New team members receive structured onboarding, shadowing, buddy shifts and supervision, ensuring you feel confident, safe and well‑prepared before working independently.

What you’ll be doing

In this role, you’ll deliver person‑centred, active support by:

• Supporting people with physical, intellectual or psychosocial disability to live safely, confidently and meaningfully
• Assisting with personal care, meal preparation, household tasks and daily routines in ways that promote dignity and independence
• Supporting community participation, social connection, appointments and recreational activities
• Working from clear care plans, behaviour support plans and guidance so expectations are always clear
• Maintaining accurate, respectful documentation that supports quality and continuity of care
• Building positive relationships with families, carers and wider support networks

Your focus will always be on empowering people, strengthening relationships and supporting participation in everyday life.
