Job summary

Life Without Barriers is seeking a Home & Community Assistant to support Queensland Community Support Scheme clients on the Sunshine Coast. This permanent part-time role involves helping clients maintain independence, with shifts between 7am and 6pm, Monday to Friday, and travel across Nambour to Golden Beach.

A kilometre reimbursement applies and the hourly rate starts at $36.22 plus super. Applicants should have Cert III in Support, a valid Australian driver’s licence and a current First

Qualifications

About the Role

You will provide personalised support to our QCSS (Queensland Community Support Scheme) clients within their homes on the Sunshine Coast. You will support people with a disability, illness, or mental health condition to maintain their independence and achieve their goals.

This is a permanent part-time opportunity with working hours available between 7am and 6pm, Monday to Friday, with no evening or sleepover shifts. You will be required to travel to support multiple clients each day from Nambour to Golden Beach and surrounding areas, so a willingness to travel is essential to this role (you will be reimbursed $1.01 cents per kilometre travelled while you work).

Skills & Experience

• Certificate III in Individual Support, Ageing Support or similar
• An Australian Driver’s Licence and reliable vehicle with minimum third-party insurance
• Strong communication skills with the ability to build and maintain positive relationships
• Excellent organisational skills, hygiene practices and problem-solving abilities
• A current First Aid and CPR Certificate (must be obtained prior to employment)

Successful candidates will be required to undertake relevant pre-employment checks to ensure the safety of our clients. This includes a National Criminal History Record Check, QLD Working with Children Check (Blue Card) and an Aged Care Statutory Declaration.
