Job summary

The Hills Shire Council is offering a 1-year full-time traineeship to obtain a Certificate IV in Library and Information Services while gaining hands-on experience at Castle Hill Library. You will deliver information to customers face-to-face and by phone, process transactions, and support daily library operations.

Applicants must have a Working with Children Check, a NSW C-class driver’s licence, and at least an HSC or equivalent.

Qualifications

• Working with Children Check is required.
• Driver's Licence (C Class) NSW is required.
• HSC or equivalent is required.
• Committed to complete a full-time 1-year traineeship whilst studying a Cert IV in Library and Information Services.

Responsibilities

• Deliver accurate information and resolve customer enquiries face to face and by phone.
• Effectively process a range of transactions and payments for Council and Library.
• Undertake day-to-day operations in any of Council’s library as rostered.
• Other duties as specified by Supervisor/Manager.

What does this role look like:
