Job summary

The City of Canterbury Bankstown Council currently has four full-time Library positions across Bankstown, Panania, Chester Hill libraries. You will deliver customer focused service, promote library services, and support daily operations.

Eligibility includes ALIA membership or relevant experience, a Working with Children Check, and strong communication skills. Salary commences at $74,692 (Grade D Step 1) + 12% super, with potential negotiation based on skills and experience.

Qualifications

• Eligibility for membership of Australian Library and Information Association (ALIA) or relevant industry experience.
• A valid Working with Children Check
• Demonstrated strong commitment to delivering high quality customer service in a culturally diverse environment.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with customers, team members, internal stakeholders and external partners.
• Demonstrated ability to prioritise workloads, follow instructions and work effectively with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high quality customer focussed and professional service and help maintain a welcoming and positive Library environment.
• Assist and deliver the library programs and activities and promote library services and resources to the community.
• Contribute to the development and implementation of the team’s business plans.
• Support the team to meet daily operational requirements and maintain effective service delivery.
• Adapt to changing priorities and assist with a range of duties to support the effective operation of the library.
