Job summary

Mornington Peninsula Shire seeks a Library Operations Lead to provide operational and workforce leadership across the Mornington Peninsula Libraries network. You will ensure safe, consistent, and efficient services with a strong focus on customer experience and community outcomes.

Reporting to the Coordinator Library Operations, you will coordinate across branches, lead staff, and contribute to service planning, evaluation and improvement. Weekend work is required.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in Library and Information Management with eligibility for Associate membership of ALIA.
• Significant experience coordinating library operations across multiple locations.
• Experience leading, coaching and supporting staff and managing performance.
• Strong frontline customer service and communication, including complex enquiries.
• Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities and apply policies.

Responsibilities

• Coordinating operations and resources across the library network, monitoring service delivery and maintaining standards.
• Leading, coaching and developing Library Assistants and relief staff, coordinating workforce resources.
• Delivering responsive, inclusive customer service and equitable access to information and services.
• Supporting service planning, evaluating practices and contributing to continuous improvement.
• Maintaining compliance with policies and safety requirements and liaising with stakeholders.
