Job summary

Rockhampton Regional Council is seeking energetic Librarians to support advanced library services, program development and community engagement across our four libraries in the Rockhampton Region. These roles require flexibility, with no set hours, including on-call availability and weekend shifts.

As a Librarian you will train staff, assist customers with physical and online resources, and help develop collections to meet community needs while working across diverse library sites.

Qualifications

• Degree in library and information management (or related discipline).
• Blue Card for working with Children and Young People required.
• Strong customer service mindset and communication skills.
• Experience in a public library environment is preferred.
• Interest in reading literacy and lifelong learning.

Responsibilities

• Assist with advanced library services and program development.
• Support library officers and ensure smooth operation of services.
• Lead community engagement initiatives and training of staff.
• Provide flexible, on-call support across four libraries.
