Job summary

Willoughby City Council is seeking an experienced Duty Manager to lead the daily operations of Willoughby Leisure Centre. You will manage a team of casual staff, ensure safe, high-quality services and create a welcoming, secure environment for patrons and community groups.

You will drive exceptional customer service, oversee safety compliance, and coordinate bookings and activities while maintaining facility standards and reporting any maintenance needs.

Qualifications

• Must hold valid Pool Lifeguard Certificate, First Aid, CPR and Working with Children Check.
• Experience in supervising casual staff, training and incident reporting is preferred.
• Knowledge of water quality, pool operations and NSW Health Public Swimming Pool guidelines is required.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations of Willoughby Leisure Centre to ensure safe, efficient and high-quality service delivery.
• Lead, support and mentor casual staff while providing on-the-job training.
• Monitor aquatic facilities and customer areas to ensure safety and wellbeing of patrons.
• Maintain high standards of customer service and respond to inquiries professionally.
• Complete water quality testing, facility inspections and operational checks; report issues promptly.
• Coordinate daily facility setup/pack-down for bookings and community activities.
• Prepare incident reports and maintain accurate records; perform admin tasks on time.
• Promote a strong safety culture by complying with WHS requirements and policies.
