Job summary

Melonba Public School in the north-west growth corridor of Sydney is seeking a School Learning Support Officer to assist students with identified learning needs under the direction of a teacher. The role includes supporting student welfare, health and wellbeing activities and may involve duties in preschool, vision/hearing support and bilingual settings.

Training provided by the Department of Education will be undertaken as needed.

Qualifications

• Working with Children Check clearance is required.
• Mandatory training by the Department of Education required.
• First aid training to be undertaken as needed.
• Administration of medications training provided.
• Health support training provided as required.

Responsibilities

• Provide support for students with identified learning needs in classrooms and other learning environments under teacher direction.
• Support student welfare, health and wellbeing activities as required.
• Assist in streams/settings such as preschool, vision support, hearing support and bilingual where needed.
