Job summary

NSW Department of Education is seeking a School Learning Support Officer to assist students with identified learning needs under teacher supervision. The role includes student welfare, health and wellbeing activities and may support streams such as pre-school, vision, hearing, and bilingual settings.

The advertised position commences at the start of 2027 and requires a Working with Children Check and ongoing mandatory training. Training for medications and health support is provided as needed.

Qualifications

• Working with Children Check Clearance.
• Willingness to undertake first aid training relevant to the SLSO role.
• Administration of Medications – training provided.
• Health support training provided (subject to transition provisions).

Responsibilities

• Work with students in the SLSO role under teacher direction.
• Support student welfare, health and wellbeing activities.
• Assist across streams/settings such as pre-school, vision, hearing, and bilingual where required.
