The NSW Department of Education is seeking a School Learning Support Officer to assist students with diverse learning needs in classrooms and other learning environments under the supervision of a teacher.

You will help with student welfare, health and wellbeing activities and may support streams such as pre-school, vision/hearing support, and bilingual programs. Relevant training and a strong teamwork mindset are essential.

Qualifications

• Working with Children Check Clearance is required.
• Mandatory training as per Department of Education.
• Medication administration training provided as needed.
• Health support training provided as needed.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Ability to work with students with emotional, physical or intellectual disabilities.
• Awareness of the needs of diverse learners.
• Effective communication skills.

Responsabilités

• Provide support for students with identified learning needs in classrooms and other learning environments under teacher direction.
• Contribute to student welfare, health and wellbeing activities.
• Support specific streams/settings: pre-school, vision, hearing, and bilingual programs.
• Perform duties in addition to general responsibilities as required.
