Job summary

Qualifications

• Demonstrated expert knowledge of the relevant curriculum and ability to model exemplary teaching across literacy and numeracy.
• Expertise in high impact teaching strategies that respond to student learning needs and evaluate learning impact.
• Ability to monitor and assess student learning and use data to inform teaching and provide feedback to students and parents.
• Exemplary interpersonal and communication skills to engage with students, colleagues, parents and the school community.
• Model behaviours aligned with Department values and support others in reflecting on practice and professional learning.
• Lead whole-school literacy improvement by building teacher capability through collaborative leadership and data-informed practice.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrating high-level expertise in teaching and learning practice.
• Modelled classroom practice including teaching demonstration lessons.
• Collaborating with the school leadership team to define highly effective teacher practice.
• Leading and modelling the implementation of whole-school improvement strategies related to curriculum planning and delivery.
• Providing professional learning support through developing observation and feedback processes for teacher practice.
• Modelling effective learning and supporting teachers to seek, analyse and act on feedback to improve practice.
• Providing evidence-based feedback to teaching staff to inform their development.
• Providing expert advice about context, processes and strategies shaping professional learning.
• Supervising and mentoring student teachers and coaching teachers.
• Modelling the use of student data to inform teaching approaches.
• Developing and promoting PLCs and school-wide professional learning structures.
• Promoting reflective practice and seeking feedback to improve practice.
