Job summary

Victorian Government is seeking a Learning Specialist to join the Teaching Service. You will model high-quality teaching, deliver demonstration lessons, mentor and coach teachers, and lead school-based professional learning to boost achievement, engagement and wellbeing.

Applicants must have deep curriculum knowledge, data-informed practice, and strong communication to collaborate with leaders, parents and the school community.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated expert knowledge of curriculum and high-impact teaching strategies.
• Ability to support teachers to evaluate learning program impact and student growth.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills for collaboration with students, parents and community.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate high-level expertise in teaching and learning practice.
• Model classroom practice including demonstration lessons.
• Collaborate with school leadership to define effective teacher practices.
• Lead and model school-wide improvement strategies in curriculum delivery.
• Provide professional learning, feedback processes and peer collaboration guidance.
• Mentor and coach teachers and supervise student teachers.
• Use data to inform teaching approaches and provide feedback to staff and students.
