Job summary

St Joseph's College Hunters Hill invites applications for a teacher assistant to work in our supportive department, assisting Stage 4 students with diverse learning needs. The role focuses on enabling access to the curriculum within a Catholic school ethos.

Responsibilities include developing, implementing and reviewing Individual Learning Plans, conducting regular diagnostic assessments, and collaborating with teachers and support staff.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting students with diverse learning needs.
• Knowledge of NCCD and CSNSW data handling is desirable.
• Experience applying NESA Exam Provisions for examinations.

Founded in 1881 by theMaristBrothers, St Joseph’s College is a boarding and day secondary boys’ school, whose Catholic identity is shaped by Maristspirituality andtraditions. Governed by Marist Schools Australia, the College enrolmentis approximately 1,100 students.

A highly skilled, collaborative and motivated teacher assistant is sought to work in in a positive and successful department which is committed to delivering excellent outcomes for students requiring additional support to access the curriculum. This role incorporates support of Stage 4 students with diverse learning needs.

Responsibilities include developing, implementing, and reviewing Individual Learning Plans to meet diverse learning needs; conducting regular diagnostic and standardised assessments to track progress; and collaborating with teachers and support staff to ensure inclusive classroom practices. The role also requires maintaining communication with parents, guardians, and external specialists to promote student wellbeing, while providing in-class, small group, and 1:1 support across Stage 4. Familiarity with NCCD and CSNSW data management, as well as experience organising and applying NESA Exam Provisions for examinations, is essential.
