Job summary

Redpath Mining is seeking a Leading Hand Service Crew to supervise underground service crews at Lake Cowal. Reporting to the Underground Supervisor, you will lead a high-performing team, ensuring timely delivery of ventilation, water, air and pumping systems while upholding strict safety standards.

You will coordinate daily tasks, monitor equipment, and assist with site operations and shift reporting in a rostered 2/2 underground environment. A strong leadership background in mining is essential.

Qualifications

• Extensive underground hard rock mining experience.
• Proven leadership in a Leading Hand or similar role.
• Strong communication and team leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Leading and mentoring Service Crew Operators to achieve daily production and development objectives.
• Coordinating underground service installations including ventilation, air, water and pumping systems.
• Ensuring work is completed safely and in accordance with site standards and procedures.
• Assisting with the installation and maintenance of mine infrastructure.
• Planning and allocating daily tasks to crew members.
• Supporting ground support, rehabilitation and dewatering activities.
• Conducting pre-start meetings, workplace inspections and hazard assessments.
• Monitoring equipment condition and reporting maintenance requirements.
• Driving a positive safety culture through visible leadership and accountability.
• Assisting Supervisors with shift reporting and workforce coordination.

Responsibilities

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Leading Hand Service Crew to join our underground operations at Lake Cowal. This is an excellent opportunity for a capable underground mining professional to step into a leadership role, guiding a high-performing team while ensuring critical underground services are delivered safely and efficiently.

As a key member of the underground leadership team, you will provide day-to-day direction to Service Crew personnel and play an active role in supporting production, maintaining mine infrastructure and fostering a strong safety culture.

About The Role

Qualifications

About You

To Be Successful In This Role, You Will Have

• Extensive underground hard rock mining experience
• Previous experience in a Service Crew role
• Demonstrated leadership experience as a Leading Hand or readiness to step into a leadership position
• Strong understanding of underground mining operations and safety systems
• Excellent communication and team leadership skills
• Ability to coordinate multiple tasks and priorities in a dynamic environment
• Commitment to continuous improvement and operational excellence
• Current Australian Driver's Licence
