Job summary

Redpath Mining is seeking an experienced Leading Hand Electrician to supervise electrical maintenance and support safe underground operations.

You will lead a crew, coordinate planned and breakdown maintenance, and mentor apprentices, while working a 2/2 roster with FIFO and DIDO options.

The role requires an Electrical Trade Qualification, a current Electrical Licence, and proven underground mining leadership.

Qualifications

• Electrical trade qualification and current licence.

• Ability to work a 2/2 roster including day and night shifts.

Role Overview

Redpath seeks an experienced Leading Hand Electrician to supervise electrical maintenance activities, ensure equipment reliability, and support safe and efficient underground mining operations. Working closely with site leadership and maintenance teams, the candidate will provide technical expertise, coordinate daily work activities, and drive a strong safety culture.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise underground electrical maintenance personnel

Requirements and Qualifications

• Electrical Trade Qualification (essential)
• Current Electrical Licence
• Previous underground mining experience
• Demonstrated leadership or Leading Hand experience
• Strong fault‑finding and troubleshooting skills
• Experience with underground mobile plant and fixed infrastructure
• Sound understanding of mining safety systems and compliance requirements
• Excellent communication and organisational skills
• Current driver’s licence
• Ability to work a 2/2 roster including day and night shift
