Job summary

TJW Automotive Services Pty Ltd in Sydney, NSW is seeking a Leading Hand Mechanic / 2IC to oversee the workshop while continuing to carry out mechanical repairs and servicing. You will assist the workshop manager, coordinate jobs, and mentor apprentices in a hands-on leadership capacity.

The role requires a qualified, experienced mechanic with at least 5 years of automotive experience, NSW Pink Slip, and a current unrestricted Australian driver's licence.

Qualifications

• A qualified and experienced mechanic
• Minimum 5 years' automotive mechanical experience
• Holds a current NSW Pink Slip (AIS) licence
• Holds a current unrestricted Australian driver's licence
• Confident diagnosing and repairing a wide range of vehicles
• Able to work independently and as part of a team
• Reliable, organised and takes pride in their work
• Has strong attention to detail and a high standard of workmanship
• Confident communicating with customers and team members
• Looking to take the next step into a Leading Hand / 2IC position

Responsibilities

• Carrying out mechanical servicing, repairs and diagnostics
• Tyre fitting, balancing, wheel alignment and general tyre-related work
• Helping coordinate the workshop and allocate jobs
• Supporting and assisting other mechanics and apprentices
• Supporting and assisting the workshop manager and filling in
• Maintaining high standards of workmanship and safety
• Carrying out vehicle inspections and roadworthy-related work
• Communicating with customers when required
• Helping ensure jobs are completed efficiently and to a high standard
• Stepping up and taking responsibility for the workshop when required

Full-time, permanent position. Monday - Friday only, have the weekends to yourself
