Job summary

JV Recruitment is sourcing a fully qualified Carpenter for an immediate contract-based leadership pathway on a Sydney Inner West project. You will work with a Site Supervisor to learn the scope, then lead the job autonomously as the Supervisor transitions to the next site.

Responsibilities include onboarding, day-to-day site coordination, and hands-on timber framing and detailing, with a clear progression from tradesperson to leading hand/supervisor. Immediate start available.

Qualifications

• Cert III in Carpentry is essential.
• Solid, proven track record in timber and structural carpentry.
• Remedial exposure to structural works is valued.
• Strong communication, proactive attitude, and leadership drive.
• Valid NSW White Card, full Driver’s Licence, own trade tools; Heights cert is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Onboarding & training with Site Supervisor on-site, project scope, trade management, safety procedures, quality measures.
• Take over day-to-day site coordination, manage subbies & schedules, ensure safety standards, keep on track for completion.
• Hands-on execution of structural timber framing, substrate prep, formwork, hoarding, detailing as required.

We have an immediate contract opportunity with an established Remedial Builder working on an active project in Sydney's Inner West. This role is structured as a clear leadership pathway: you will work directly alongside an experienced Site Supervisor to learn the specifics of the project before stepping up to lead the job autonomously as the Supervisor transitions to the next site.

Role & Pathway

• Phase 1 (Onboarding & Training): Work side-by-side with the current Site Supervisor on-site, getting across the project scope, trade management, safety procedures, and quality measures.
• Phase 2 (Project Leadership): Take over day-to-day site coordination, driving subbie schedules, managing trade quality, enforcing safety standards, and keeping the job on track to practical completion.
• Hands-on Execution: Perform critical structural timber framing, substrate prep, formwork, hoarding, and detailing as required.

What We Are Looking For

• Trade Qualification: Cert III in Carpentry is essential.
• Carpentry Experience: Solid, proven track record executing high-quality timber and structural carpentry work.
• Remedial Exposure (Desired): Prior exposure to structural remedial works, balcony repairs, concrete spall prep, or building refurbishments is highly regarded.
• Leadership Ambition: Strong communication skills, a proactive attitude, and the drive to lead trades and manage daily site activities.
• Tickets & Licensing: Valid NSW White Card, full Driver’s Licence, and your own trade tools. Working at Heights certification is a plus.
