Job summary

Core Talent is seeking a Leading Hand Carpenter for high-end residential projects in the Southern Highlands. You will lead carpenters and apprentices on site, coordinating trades and maintaining exceptional workmanship.

Under the Site Manager, you will assist with programming, read architectural drawings, and guide projects through the full construction lifecycle, with clear progression toward Foreman or Site Supervisor roles.

Qualifications

• Cert III in Carpentry required.
• Experience in high-end residential construction.
• Experience supervising Carpenters and Apprentices.
• Ability to read architectural drawings.
• Desire to progress to Foreman or Site Supervisor.

Responsibilities

• Lead and work with Carpenters and Apprentices on site.
• Coordinate subcontractors and trades on site.
• Maintain high standards of workmanship and finishes.
• Assist with programming and day-to-day site coordination.
• Read and interpret architectural drawings.

High-End Residential Southern Highlands | Long-Term Projects | Career Progression

Core Talent is currently recruiting for a Leading Hand Carpenter to join an established, award-winning construction company delivering high-end, architecturally designed residential projects up to $15M across the Southern Highlands.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Leading Hand looking to progress towards Foremanlevel, or a strong Carpenter who is ready to take the next step into leadership.

The Role

Working closely with the Site Manager, you will be involved in the day-to-day delivery of architecturally designed residential projects, including:

• Leading and working alongside Carpenters and Apprentices
• Coordinating subcontractors and trades on site
• Maintaining high standards of workmanship, finishes and quality
• Assisting with programming and day-to-day site coordination
• Reading and interpreting architectural drawings
• Supporting projects through the full construction lifecycle
• Communicating effectively with Site Managers, trades and the wider project team

About You

We are looking for someone who has:

• Cert III in Carpentry
• Experience within high-end / architecturally designed residential construction
• Exposure to projects from groundworks through to completion
• Experience supervising or mentoring Carpenters and Apprentices
• Strong understanding of construction sequencing and trade coordination
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
• High attention to detail and pride in workmanship
• Ambition to progress into a Foreman or Site Supervisor position
