Job summary

V/Line is seeking a Workforce Operations Team Leader to direct a live roster for 18 workforce controllers in a 24/7 operation at Southern Cross Station. You will decide on-call actions, manage absences and disruptions, and drive real-time workforce decisions with fairness and clarity.

You will implement evolve plans within 12 months, grow trust, coach staff and ensure strong safety, fatigue, and enterprise agreement compliance across shifts.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of leadership experience in an operations setting with the ability to prioritise and make time-critical calls safely.
• Experience leading through change and building trust within a team.
• Strong understanding of Enterprise Agreements in an industrial environment and rostering systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of 18 workforce controllers for day of operations.
• Make calls during disruptions, absences and high risk situations with clear escalation support.
• Develop consistent procedures, training and competency standards and escalation channels.
• Ensure rosters comply with Enterprise Agreements, fatigue risk management, safety requirements and business rules.
• Monitor staff movement and reporting including Hastus data and provide coaching to the team.
