Job summary

EVT Group’s QT Gold Coast hotel brand is hiring a Chief Steward to lead our stewarding team across multiple F&B outlets. You’ll oversee rosters, cost control, and ensure HACCP and health and safety standards are met in a fast-paced kitchen environment.

Join Daymaker culture and drive cleanliness, reliability and teamwork onsite, while partnering with Executive Chef and F&B outlets to provide pristine equipment and service. Prior stewarding leadership and a can-do attitude are essential.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years’ experience in a similar role with leadership skills.
• Experience in stewarding across multiple F&B outlets; open kitchen exposure is a plus.
• Excellent communication; able to train and provide feedback.
• Strong time management and organisational skills; rostering experience is a plus.
• Ability to lift up to 30 kilograms.
• Presents well in uniform.

Responsibilities

• Lead the stewarding team day to day, managing rosters, labour cost and performance through coaching and recognition.
• Keep kitchens and back of house spotless, with equipment working and HACCP and food safety standards consistently met.
• Partner with the Executive Chef and F&B outlets so every venue has clean, quality equipment when it needs it.
• Be visible during busy service periods, including restaurants and banqueting, ready to jump in where needed.
• Manage OSE inventory, cost and wastage, and recycling and water initiatives.
• Build one connected team across departments, and pitch in whenever something unexpected comes up.
